Statement of Privacy 

This document was updated April 8, 2003.

 

At Seminars and Systems, we are committed to protecting your privacy.  You can travel through most of our site without giving us any information about yourself.  But sometimes we do need information to provide services that you request, and this statement of privacy explains data collection adn use in those situations. 

 

Collecting Personal Information

We will ask you when we need information that personally identifies you (personal information) or allows us to contact you.  Generally, this information is requested when you are asked to register before entering a contest, ordering e-mail newsletters, joining a limited-access premium site, or when purchasing and registering Seminars and Systems products.  Personal information collected by Seminars and Systems often is limited to your e-mail address, but may include other information when needed to provide a service you requested.

 

Use of your Personal Information

We use your personal information for four primary purposes:

  • To make the site easier for you to by not making you enter your personal information mor than once.
  • To help you quickly find software, services or information on Seminars and Systems.
  • To help us create and deliver content most relavant to you.
  • To alert you to product upgrades, special offers, updated information and other new services from Seminars and Systems.

We occassionally hire other companies to provide limited services on our behalf, including packaging, mailing and delivering purchases, answering customer questions about prodcuts or services, sending postal mail and processing event registration.  We will only provide those companies the information they need to deliver that service, and they are prohibited from using that information for any other use.

 

Seminars and Systems will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:  (1) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Seminars and Systems of the site; (2) protect and defend the rights or property of Seminars and Systems and its family of websites, and, (3) act in urgent circomstances to protect the personal safety of users of Seminars and Systems, its websites, or the public.

 

Control of your Personal Information

Registering also allows you to tell us how or whether you want Seminars and Systems to communicate with you.  After registering, go to the Account Center and establish your preferences in the Contact Options sections.  There, you can decide what information you want to recieve and how you want to receive it.  Or you can tell us not to contact you.

 

Seminars and Systems occassionally allows other companies to offer our registered customers information about their products and services, using postal mail only or e-mail.  If you do not want to receive these offers, you should uncheck the box in the Contact Options section of the Account Center stating, "Seminars and Systems partners can send me postal mail or e-mail about their services or products."

 

Access to your Personal Information

We will provide you with the means to ensure that your personal information is correct and current.  You may review and update this information at any time at the Account Center.  You can:

  • View and edit personal information you have already given us.
  • Tell us whether you wnat Seminars and Systems to send you marketing information.
  • Choose whether you want third parties to send you their offers by postal mail or e-mail.
  • Subscribe or cancel subscriptions to newsletters about our services and products.

Use of Cookies

To ensure we are publishing content customers need and want, Seminars and Systems collects aggregated site-visitation statistics using cookies.  We do not track individuals' use of the site.

 

When a user visits the site, a cookie is placed on the customer's machine (if the customer accepts cookies) or is read if the customer has visited the site previously.  Seminars and Systems also uses cookies in connection with the use of your account on the website.

 

Changes to this statement

Seminars and Systems will occassionally update this privacy statement.  When we do, we will also revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
